One I Made Earlier – Helen’s story of the arrival of Lucy

Helen had been trying for more than 7 months to conceive but without success. She had already been for blood tests and was told that there was no obvious reason she should not be able to conceive naturally.

She had stopped taking the contraceptive pill 4 years previously so it wasn’t a case of waiting for this to disperse out of her system. Her partner was also willing to come for reflexology treatments if necessary.

Helen felt under tremendous pressure to conceive and thought it would never happen. She had previously had a miscarriage at 6 weeks a few years earlier so felt anxious and nervous about treatments. She was unsure as to how she felt about reflexology but like so many women in her position, was willing to give anything a go!

Approach taken:

After taking a full case history I knew I had to work on relaxation techniques to relax her. Hormonal balance therapy was required to decrease the length of her cycle as this was, she stated, usually between 28-31 days.

Her first treatment was done on day 30 (this happened to be the day of her consultation and first treatment). Her second treatment took place 11 days later. I asked if she had seen any sign of ovulation and she stated there was slight mucus signs on this day. I advised to go home and get active!!

The Result!

Helen received her 1st treatment the day before her period and the 2nd treatment on day 11 (ovulation day for her). She did not have a 3rd treatment as she announced she was pregnant! This was absolutely amazing.

She waited until week 20 to see me again when she came back to me for treatments during her pregnancy and to work towards a quick labour.

Thank you Helen for the beautiful photos of you and little Lucy!
