One I Made Earlier – Jenny’s story of the arrival of Jack
Jenny came to see me mid- November 2016 for her initial consultation and first treatment. She had stopped taking the contraceptive pill the beginning of 2016 but had not yet conceived. After taking a full case history it transpired that her monthly cycle was irregular, at 32-34 days long. She also felt that the cycle seemed to be getting longer. She had not been to her doctor, yet, about her fertility concerns so had not started any IVF treatments. This meant she was safe to treat. I cannot give reflexology to anyone, whilst going through IVF, as this can sabotage their treatment. On the day of Jenny’s consultation she was on day 10 of her cycle. This meant that we were probably too late to alter her cycle, this month, to improve her ovulation. Ladies usually ovulate from day 10- day 17 of their cycle. With some exceptions
Approach Taken:
It was evident that I needed to shorten Jenny’s’ cycle to 28 days, to regulate her ovulation and hope to get to a point where she could recognise any ovulation signs. I would be doing this by performing specialised, hormonal balance, reflexology treatment.
After the consultation (due to Xmas commitments) I did not follow up with Jenny until 12th January 2017 which was day 8 of her cycle. She stated that her last period was on 28 days (an improvement of approx. 5 days) and had had some ovulation (cervical mucus) sign on day 14 of her last cycle.
These signs were stronger than previous months. Her next visit to me was 2nd February, (day 5, 3rd treatment). She had a much shorter cycle this time - it had arrived on day 25, which was strange, but after speaking to Jenny it was possibly due to a short flight she had taken that week. This was to be monitored.
Next treatment was 7th February, day 10 (4th treatment) as I wanted to get another hormonal balance in before her ovulation.
Her next treatment was 10th March (5th treatment) but I did have a feeling that she had already conceived at this point! This was down to her symptoms of bloating and stomach cramps which she reported to me on her previous visit. There had been a short period (spotting) which, I was hoping, was implantation bleeding.
The Results:
13th March, Jenny announced that she was pregnant! It turns out that the previous bleeding was due to implantation and that she had conceived prior to her last few visits. We were all over the moon and amazed at how quickly her cycle had become regulated and conception had taken place.
Jack was born in November 2017. Jenny had only had 5 treatments, which included the 2 month gap between mid-November 2016 and mid- January
I felt extremely emotional to have been a part of her journey to motherhood. I have followed her baby, Jack’s progress over the years and regularly receive photos. Thank you Jenny for allowing me to use these photos of Jack, he is adorable.
